Adding a Guardian to an Existing Child Account
If your child has already set up their own account and you want to link it to yours for management and safety, you can do this easily through Family Connect.
Important: These instructions are for children who have their own email address linked to their account. If your child is currently using your email address and you need to separate the accounts via Rookie Me Hub.
Step 1: Set Up Your Guardian Account
Before you can link to your child, you must have your own unique account.
Create your account: Sign up using your own personal email address (different from the one your child uses).
Step 2: Create a Family Group
Once logged in to your new account:
- Navigate to the Family Connect section from your account or settings .
- Select Create a Family Group.
- You will now be the "Family Organiser."
Step 3: Invite Your Child
To bring your child into the Family Group, share your Family Join Code with your child:
- In Family Connect, select Add Child
- Follow the prompts selecting Yes, to the question "Does your child have a Rookie Me account?".
- A unique Family Join Code (usually a 8-digit alphanumeric code) will appear.
- Share this code with your child verbally or via text.
Step 4: Child’s Final Steps
Now, your child needs to accept the connection from their account:
- The child logs into their account.
- Goes to Family Connect.
- Selects Join a Family and enters the code you provided.
Once these steps are complete, the accounts will be linked, and you will see your child’s profile appear in your Family Connect dashboard.
Coming soon: a Child user will be able to request their guardian(s) create a family.
